Eligibility: Doctors (Foundation to ST1-4), Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Orthoptists, and Optometrists with an interest in glaucoma management.
Course Overview
This intensive 1-day programme offers a structured learning experience in YAG laser applications for both capsulotomy and glaucoma management. Participants will gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills through expert-led lectures, hands-on simulation, and interactive workshops.
YAG Capsulotomy
- Laser Safety & Fundamentals – Understand laser physics, safety protocols, and principles of patient consent to ensure safe clinical practice.
- Techniques of YAG Capsulotomy – Learn how to manage posterior capsular opacification and intraocular lens opacities effectively and efficiently.
- Practical Simulation – Develop confidence in delivering YAG capsulotomy through hands-on simulation, including risk assessment and management of potential complications.

Certificate of Attendance with Royal College of Ophthalmologists accredited CPD points.
