About

Our Story

At Wales Laser Eye Surgery Training, we are dedicated to raising the standard of ophthalmic education through high-quality, hands-on laser training. Founded and led by Dr Safa Elhassan and Ms Anita Prasad, our courses are designed to equip clinicians with the confidence, precision, and expertise required for modern laser eye surgery.

With a strong emphasis on patient safety, clinical accuracy, and practical experience, our programmes combine theoretical understanding with supervised live training. Each course follows evidence-based learning principles and aligns with the Royal College of Ophthalmologists’ CPD requirements.

Dr Elhassan and Ms Prasad bring decades of combined surgical and teaching experience, ensuring every participant receives world-class instruction and mentorship within a supportive, collaborative learning environment.

Our Vision

To be the trusted centre for hands-on ophthalmic laser training, providing clinicians with the practical skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to deliver safe and effective laser eye care. We aim to shape a future where every ophthalmic practitioner is competent, confident, and fully prepared to perform laser procedures, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and clinical outcomes.

Our Mission

Our mission is to equip ophthalmic practitioners with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to perform laser eye procedures safely and effectively. Through hands-on simulation, clinical scenarios, and interactive learning, we provide practical, evidence-based training that emphasizes laser safety, technical precision, and patient care. By creating a supportive and engaging learning environment, we enable participants to refine techniques, expand their expertise, and apply what they learn directly in clinical practice.
